Jetstar New Zealand Services Resume: Puyehue-Cordon Caulle Volcano
MELBOURNE, Australia, June 27 /Medianet International-AsiaNet/ --
Jetstar is pleased to confirm that all Australian domestic, New Zealand domestic, trans Tasman and international services are now operating to normal schedule.
All customers with confirmed flights can proceed to the airport as per normal.
Jetstar Australia and New Zealand CEO David Hall said the ash cloud has resulted in the cancellation of hundreds of fights and the disruption of thousands of passengers over the past two weeks.
"We thank our passengers for their patience during what has been a very difficult time," said Mr Hall.
"We're very pleased to return to our normal schedule, and focus on getting our passengers safely to their destination.
"While we never like having to disrupt our passengers the decision to suspend operations was based entirely on Jetstar's commitment to safety – the safety of our passengers and our people always comes first."
Jetstar has maintained flexible fare options in managing customers affected by the volcanic ash cloud.
Customers whose flights were cancelled as a result of the ash cloud and wish to obtain a credit voucher (to the value of the unused portion of their booking) can do so at their convenience on Jetstar.com.
Mr Hall advised that Jetstar would continue to monitor the ash cloud, even though services were returning to normal.
"While we anticipate operating to our usual schedule from today onwards, we will notify our customers should there be any further impact as a result of the ash cloud," Mr Hall said.
All requests for flight re-bookings and refunds must be processed by the Jetstar call centre. Contact details below.
