INZBC participation in Prime Ministers Mission a success.

India _New Zealand Business Council participation in Prime Ministers Mission a great success.

INZBC Chair, Wenceslaus Anthony represented us on Prime Minister’s state visit to India recently and INZBC participated in a variety of NZ-India trade and business development activities in India.

The Chair addressed the joint business forum organized by CII in association with FICCI and ASSOCHAM at New Delhi on 27th June 2011. Our Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. John Key and India’s Commerce Minister Hon. Anand Sharma were the main speakers along with representatives from the three above bodies. Former New Zealand Cricket Captain Stephen Fleming also spoke.

INZBC also organised a round table luncheon discussion led by FICCI in association with CII, ASSOCHAM and PHD Chamber of Commerce. INZBC thanks ANZ National Bank for sponsoring this luncheon meeting. The discussions strengthened our relationship with these organisations and will lead to greater cooperation in the area of future trade delegations and missions between New Zealand and India, for the benefit of our members.

We are honoured that our Chair was invited to the State banquet hosted by Hon Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India and Shri Singh was pleased to hear about India NZ Business Council and its activities. He extended his best wishes for our work to help grow trade and business between the two countries. The Chair also met with the leader of opposition in Indian parliament, Smt. Participation in this mission underscores the pre-eminent position that the Council enjoys in New Zealand, in matters trade and commerce with India. Through all the linkages and associations that have been established and strengthened, we hope to continue to deliver greater value to our members – which is our primary mission.
