Birds of a Feather flock to Hamilton

PRESS RELEASE

07 July 2011

For Immediate Release

Birds of a Feather flock to Hamilton

Never one to sit and wait for new opportunities to come to her, Annah Stretton has once again looked to morph herself and her fashion retail outlets.

Her newest entrepreneurial venture has nested a gaggle of fashion concepts under a single roof. A space for women with that, 'je ne sais quoi' to explore and extend their classic styling flair.

"I have collaborated with other great New Zealand businesswomen to create a gallery of all things beautiful!" Annah says. "A space where women can not only invest in themselves with fashion and beauty but also meet, relax, network or just browse for that something extra special."

Joining 32 highly successful Annah Stretton and Annah.S retail stores throughout New Zealand and Australia, Birds of a Feather will feature frocks, shoes, makeup, accessories, coffee and events all under one roof - the ideal shopping destination for all women.

"I have chosen five retailers who I believe are the best in what they offer. I have selected the best coffee makers in the Waikato, the makeup artist who we work with at New Zealand Fashion Week and, of course, shoes, which I believe are a perfect fit with my brand. For the last year, I have been hand picking a great range of collectibles, a trait for which our stores are renowned.

"We will be utilising every inch of the space with the walls serving as an exhibition space for brilliant artists. In the heart of the store will be an area dedicated to women; a place where events will be held and girls will get together to network supported by great coffee.

"Birds of a Feather is my take on the next level of retailing shopping. It will provide a new dimension of product accessibility, customer service and the overall retail experience."

In an environment that is constantly evolving, Annah has identified the need to change with it.

"Retailers need to look at the way we do business," she says. "Sales can be difficult in this current economic environment and it's not going to get easier unless we change what we do. Those who have been doing the same thing for years will simply not survive if they don't adapt to meet the needs of the changing generation."

Opening August 1st, Birds of a Feather, will occupy a large space on Barton Street in Hamilton's CBD. We look forward to you flocking to the new 'Department of Style HQ'.
