Notice Of Voluntary Product Recall
The Warehouse has announced a nationwide recall of four models of Milazo bikes* purchased or exchanged between 1 March 2011 and 11 July 2011. The bikes have also been voluntarily withdrawn from all stores.
While assembling this specific shipment of Milazo bikes, The Warehouse has discovered a potential fault with some of the calliper fixing bolts, prompting the decision to recall them.
All customers should check the bolts on both the front and rear brake assembly of 24” and 26” Milazo bikes purchased from The Warehouse between these dates. If the middle of the bolt is stamped with the letter “J”, customers should stop using the bike immediately, as a precaution.
Customers are asked to return the recalled Milazo bikes to any of The Warehouse’s 89 stores, where they will be checked and tested by an approved bike specialist, to ensure they meet New Zealand’s strict bike standards and avoid any safety risks.
Nick Tuck, GM of Merchandise at The Warehouse, said today, “We never take chances when it comes to our customers’ safety. We want to be certain that every bike we sell is 100% safe, and to avoid any concerns, we ask customers to stop riding the recalled bikes and return them to The Warehouse for testing as soon as possible.
“We stress that this is a voluntary recall based on a possible fault we have discovered, and we reassure customers that all our bikes go through comprehensive safety checks. No other bikes are being recalled or withdrawn, and we are working closely with the supplier concerned to ensure all their bikes meet our safety standards.”
To assist with the
processing of repairs, customers are asked to provide a
receipt where possible.
