Brancott Estate paves the way to RWC 2011 for four explorers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 26th July 2011

Brancott Estate paves the way to RWC 2011 for four lucky explorers

New Zealand wine brand Brancott Estate, is celebrating its proud Official Sponsorship of RWC 2011 with the recent launch of the Brancott Estate Stay Curious Tour. Two lucky couples will have the chance to win the ultimate prize package including tickets to selected quarter-final, semi-final and the Final matches of RWC 2011 while exploring the highlights of New Zealand along the way.

Consumers in New Zealand and Australia are invited to enter for the chance to be ‘explorers’ on the Brancott Estate Stay Curious Tour. One Australian couple and one New Zealand couple will represent their country as explorers. Entry is via the Brancott Estate Facebook page – www.facebook.com/brancottestate.

Following a welcome ceremony at the soon-to-be-unveiled Brancott Estate Heritage Centre at Brancott Vineyard in Marlborough, the two winning explorer couples will embark on the ultimate tour around New Zealand, following selected RWC 2011 quarter-finals, semi-finals and the ultimate prize – the Final, complete with an itinerary of unique and memorable New Zealand activities along the way.

The Kiwi explorers will have the opportunity to go off-the-beaten track to sample the highlights of their own backyard, such as the Fox Glacier and Queenstown, while the Australians will take in true iconic New Zealand experiences such as the Auckland Sky Tower and the geothermal springs of Rotorua.

Patrick Materman, Brancott Estate Chief Winemaker notes: “The Brancott Estate Stay Curious Tour celebrates our curious spirit. We believe that staying curious in life can lead to great things – and the experiences shared by the explorers on the Brancott Estate Stay Curious Tour will be remembered for years to come. I look forward to welcoming them to Brancott Vineyard for this once-in-a-lifetime tour.”

The explorers will travel around New Zealand locations to experience the beautiful scenery, activities and people of New Zealand.

The first phase of entries is via photo/caption and a shortlist of entrants will be asked to submit a video entry, entries being judged by a panel including Brancott Estate Chief Winemaker Patrick Materman, New Zealand television sports presenter Hamish McKay and Judith Tabron, one of New Zealand’s leading restaurateurs and owner of Soul Bar & Bistro.

Both couples of explorers will share their Brancott Estate Stay Curious Tour on the Facebook page by uploading daily video diaries. Facebook users can get involved by sharing New Zealand travel tips with the explorers and also voting on what they should do on their ‘Stay Curious Wednesday’.

The explorers will be subject to the will of the Brancott Estate community! Each couple has a ‘Stay Curious Wednesday’ every week during their Brancott Estate Stay Curious Tour, and followers of the Facebook page can choose what the activity should be on the day. The options for ‘Stay Curious Wednesday’ will be chosen by Tourism New Zealand so are guaranteed to be truly authentic Kiwi experiences.
