The Monthly Economic Indicators (MEI) publication is a stock-take of economic data releases.
The most recent Monthly Economic Indicators publication is the Monthly Economic Indicators August 2011. This month's MEI includes special topics on medium-term exchange rate variability and its impacts and Greek sovereign debt crisis.
The MEI is prepared by the Forecasting and Monitoring team in the Treasury. The MEI includes a commentary on the major data releases over the previous month and an annex with more detailed charts and source data.
The MEI will be of interest to those seeking a regular update of developments in the New Zealand economy.
Next Release Date
The Treasury will release the Monthly Economic Indicators September 2011 on Monday, 3 October 2011 at 2pm.
The Treasury may change the release date and time without notice.
Previous Monthly Economic Indicators
The August 2001 MEI was the first public release of this publication on the Treasury website. Each month the previously published versions of the MEI are made available from the Archive of Monthly Economic Indicators 2011 to 2001 page.
