Bonuses for Business Awards Entrants

Entrants in this year’s Electra Kapiti Horowhenua Business Awards are to attend an exclusive briefing from their local district council and will also receive a presentation on defining their businesses for better marketing.

The separate briefings in Horowhenua and Kapiti will cover what the local council is doing for business in the region and a look at what the future holds.

At each session, Gus van de Roer will give practical advice on positioning businesses for better competitive advantage through a “lift statement” and clarifying the difference between vision and positioning. Then, the entrants will be advised on how to utilise positioning. Those attending will also be given ten rules for business success.

Mr van de Roer is a former owner and chief executive of one of New Zealand’s leading branding and visual communications companies, specialising in the creation and managing of many major branding and marketing related projects. He has an international reputation.

These briefings are a first for the Kapiti Horowhenua business awards and are intended to give additional support for businesses that have put effort into preparing their entry materials and opening their businesses to scrutiny by assessors.

The first briefing will be at the Horowhenua Council Chambers this coming Thursday (15th September) and the other will be in Kapiti on Tuesday 4th October.
