Polycom Appoints Deane Jessep as Regional Manager


Polycom Strengthens Leadership and Presence in New Zealand with Appointment of Deane Jessep as New Zealand Regional Manager


Responsible for further accelerating local market growth in rapidly expanding video conferencing and unified communications sectors


New Zealand – October 6, 2011: Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM), the global leader in standards-based unified communications (UC), has moved to further reinforce its leadership position and strengthen its presence in the New Zealand market with the appointment of Deane Jessep as New Zealand Regional Manager. In this role, Mr. Jessep will be responsible for driving growth in Polycom’s New Zealand business, with an emphasis on the fast-growing video conferencing and unified communications sectors.

Mr. Jessep brings more than 14 years of industry experience including starting, operating and selling his own technology business, in addition to holding a number of roles in government; serving on education and health boards; and direct retail trading. He also has more than three years experience working as a senior ICT consulting engineer, before taking a converged technology consulting role with Vodafone across channel, middle market, and corporate & government customers. Most recently he held a senior position at Huawei, building their new enterprise business in New Zealand.


With his proven track record in operational and leadership roles, Mr. Jessep will be responsible for accelerating the New Zealand business through expanding the certified reseller network and engaging with key partners in the Polycom Open Collaboration Network™ – including HP, IBM, Microsoft and Juniper Networks – to deliver easy-to-deploy, open standards-based video and voice collaboration solutions within unified communications environments. He will also work closely with long time channel partner Asnet Technologies; as well as Datastor, announced as Polycom’s latest New Zealand distributor in May 2010.
