NZX Announcement from Turners & Growers re PSA

Turners & Growers has today been advised by Kiwifruit Vine Health that the first suspected case of the bacterial kiwifruit vine disease (Psa-V) has been notified in Kerikeri.

The suspected case is not on an orchard owned, managed or growing Turners & Growers kiwifruit varieties. Regular weekly testing of Turners & Growers orchards and varieties in Kerikeri and all other growing locations has so far returned negative results.

It is understood that the suspected case has been identified on an orchard approximately 1 km from the nearest Turners & Growers kiwifruit orchard.

Kiwifruit Vine Health and Zespri will keep Turners & Growers fully advised regarding this development. In the meantime, Turners & Growers has implemented its own strict orchard management procedures on its Kerikeri kiwifruit orchards. All necessary precautions are being taken to mitigate any risk of spread and Turners & Growers will be working with all parties in Kerikeri while the secondary test is undertaken to confirm or otherwise the suspected result today.

Turners & Growers will update the market on any developments regarding its orchards in the Kerikeri area.
