Announcing #NZJobs - Connecting NZ employers and job seekers
Announcing #NZJobs - Connecting NZ employers and job seekers on Twitter
University is all but over for the year, schools are almost out for the summer and the Rugby World Cup has finished. They're 3 big reasons why the recruitment industry is busier than normal.
Over the last
6 months we've been running social media workshops with
recruitment companies around New Zealand in a partnership
with Jobs.co.nz
33% of
people use social networks at the office. Facebook and
LinkedIn accounts for 65% of social media use at work.
Research indicates those people able to use social networks
at work are happier and more productive than workers who are
banned from using social media in the office. Most people
access social networks through a mobile device. *source BUT with so many recruitment companies and employers now
using social networks to promote their vacancies how does a
job seeker find the best job for them on
Twitter?
*Problem:* Searching for job tweets in NZ is
complicated. You have to search and follow all the
recruitment agencies or jobs websites which takes time.
Standard hashtags like #jobs #recruitment are not location
specific making the results irrelevant for the NZ
market. *Solution:* Initiate a nationally recognised
hashtag that everyone in the industry can use and promote it
to job seekers through word of mouth and various social
campaigns...Nek Minute... #NZJOBS With
1,000's of New Zealand businesses and organisations using
social networks recruiters and employers are posting job
vacancies on Twitter. But unless you follow each company
there really isn't an easy way to catch those job tweets.
Until now. Hashtags are neutral, no one controls them,
anyone can use them. Hashtags are simply the easiest way for
people to connect on Twitter around a mutual
interest. *#NZJOBS connects job seekers with employers and
recruitment agents in NZ. * *So what next ?* Start using
the hashtag. When you post a job vacancy tweet add #NZJOBS
at the end. If you're a job seeker click #NZJOBS Please let us
know if you find a job or a great candidate through using
the hashtag, we'd love to share the story. ENDS
