Our diesel prices are staying down says Gull

Our diesel prices are staying down says Gull

Diesel prices soar to over $1.50 amid barrel and currency fluctuations

Auckland, 11 November 2011 – On the back of oil giants increasing diesel prices to over $1.50 per litre and in some cases almost to $1.52 per litre, Gull has refused to move prices up at its outlets. Gull prices remain between $1.399 per litre - at several unmanned sites - and $1.449.

Dave Bodger General Manager Gull New Zealand defied anyone to accurately predict international oil markets and exchange rates in the short term.

“Moving prices now amongst volatility like this is very enthusiastic. Bigger overheads motivate major oil giants in different ways to Gull. We remain family-owned and will always focus on the price to the consumer.

“Seven cents per litre saved is a lot on a fill of diesel,” notes Bodger.

“Couple this with 25 cents per litre savings using a Countdown supermarket voucher this weekend and there is some serious money to be kept in the motorist’s wallet at Gull.

“Gull likes its customers to feel good. Good quality fuel at the right price is how we do that. Pretty simple stuff really. We’ll look at prices on Monday morning again but our attitude will still be to keep them down if we can,” says Bodger.

At the majority of Gull outlets where Gull controls retail prices, maximum prices are as follows:

Unmanned SiteManned Site
Gull Diesel Max (biodiesel blend)$1.399$1.449
Gull Low Sulphur Diesel$1.399$1.429
