The Running Bull Bar & Grill House

The Running Bull in Christchurch has been given the official tick as one of the country's best after work drinks venues and meeting places.

The Riccarton Road restaurant and bar has just been named a finalist in the 'Social Meeting Venue's category of the 2011 Corporate Events Guide People Choice Awards.

The finalists are chosen by the public themselves who rate venues based on customer service and their overall experience. The annual accolades are considered the most prestigious event awards in the country.

The Running Bull's general manager, Layton Hoare is thrilled to have made the 2011 finals saying it supports his belief - and his customers - that the bar is a great place to meet mates after work, celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a quiet drink with friends.

"We have a very loyal customer base that enjoys coming here for lunch or dinner, or on the weekend with their kids. Equally popular are our quiz and sports nights and our resident DJ. We're a really versatile place which means we can cater for a wide range of customers over different times of the day and provide a great experience for all."

The public now has until Sunday December 4th to vote for The Running Bull at www.corporateeventsguide.co.nz before the overall category winner is announced the following week.

Layton says he and his staff have their fingers crossed that they will win the 'Social Meeting Place' category, cementing their status as the best in the country.

The Running Bull opened last year and offers hearty meals and refreshing drinks from 11am until late daily. On tap are everyone's favourite beers including Tui, Heineken and Tiger matched by cocktail specials. Live music Thursday and Friday nights plus big screens to watch sport have added to the bar's popularity along with free parking at the rear of the building.
