Tui’s Christmas Upside Down Auction For Charity
Tis The Season To Be Givin
9th December 2011
Colin Meads at your own private BBQ, a fishing trip with Geoff Thomas, Tui brewery girls at you work Christmas function or personalised Tui Quarts with your name on each…
Today (9th December), and for the next dozen days, Tui is giving its faithful the opportunity to bid and buy unique Tui experiences and items in the Tui Christmas ‘Upside-down’ auction.
Tui handle Club members will be able to buy the ultimate Tui themed prize on offer each day on the Tui website (www.tui.co.nz) in an auction with a twist. The Tui ‘Upside Down’ (reverse) auction sees the price counts down, meaning the first auction bid wins the prize.
Better yet, those good blokes at Tui are gifting all the proceeds from the prizes on offer to charity. All the money from the Tui ‘Upside Down’ auctions is earmarked for the following charities, The Canterbury Rugby Earthquake Relief Charitable Trust, The New Zealand Red Cross, The Royal New Zealand Coastguard, The Pukaha Mt Bruce Bird Sanctuary and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand – however it’s up to the prize bid winner and the public to decide which charity receives the money.
Each auction prize bid winner will nominate one of the four charities to gift 50 percent of the money, the other 50 percent will be pooled together and the Tui community will then decide which charity receives a Christmas gift from NZ’s most popular beer brand at the conclusion of all the auctions.
Tui Brand Manager William Papesch says that Tui is getting involved and giving back this Christmas.
"Supporting charity organisations at this time of year is important and Tui wanted help out in our own unique way. We are auctioning off 12 money unique Tui themed prizes to our Tui faithful, however we turning a traditional auction on its head where the price will go backwards, we are calling it an Upside-Down auction. Hopefully the bidders have their wits about them and are willing to dig deep to ensure they get the prize that they want. Hopefully this will lead to Tui rustling up some decent cash for the nominated charities before Christmas." Says William.
Buy the packages yourself or band together with your mates and pool your money to win these prizes for good causes.
Be poised to pounce and click ‘buy now’ before someone else does, or before the time runs out and you pay the ultimate price – no prize!
