Three new Directors for Staples Rodway

Internal promotions at leading accountancy firm Staples Rodway will see the company begin 2012 with three new Directors. Current Associate Directors Mark Kingsford, Nigel de Frere and Mike Rudd will take up their roles as Directors in January.

Mark Kingsford

Mark Kingsford joined the Staples Rodway Corporate Advisory Team in 2008 following six years of ‘big 4’ experience and four years overseas in the world’s largest retail and investment banks.

A chartered accountant, Mark has significant experience in financial and management accounting, tax structuring and business merger and acquisition services. Mark chairs the Staples Rodway National Property & Construction Industry Group and is a published author in various magazines on governance, internal control and management.

Mark works closely with middle market clients helping them to devise the best strategy for optimum growth underpinned by robust management accounts.

Nigel de Frere

Nigel de Frere joined Staples Rodway as an Associate Director in the Audit and Assurance Services team in June 2011. A Chartered Accountant, Nigel has more than 14 years audit experience with large firms, including four years working in London.

Nigel has expertise in the provision of assurance and transaction services to listed and non-listed issuers across the financial services sector. He also has a wealth of knowledge in the interpretation and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and provides Staples Rodway clients with technical guidance on financial reporting issues.

Mike Rudd

An experienced tax advisor, Mike Rudd joined Staples Rodway’s Auckland office as an Associate Director in September 2011. He has more than 16-years tax experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Mike began his career at Inland Revenue before moving into a large accountancy firm. He then spent five years working in the United Kingdom, including a role as the European Tax Director for a technology group. On returning to New Zealand seven years ago Mike worked as a tax advisor in a ‘big four’ accounting firm, assisting clients with tax-effective structuring, ownership of intellectual property and assisting with tax disputes.

Mike works with clients in the technology, finance, manufacturing and property sectors focusing on business structuring, including international structuring and planning.
