Silver Fern Farms introduces of innovative new cuts
Silver Fern Farms commitment to putting consumers first leads to the introduction of innovative new cuts.
21 FEBRUARY 2012
Constantly in touch with the market and putting consumers front and centre, Silver Fern Farms is able to develop new cuts of meat to provide solutions for the changing appetites of diners.
Sharon Angus, Group Marketing Manager says “Being aware of what and how people are eating means that we are able to be on the leading edge when it comes to the development of new products for great meal experiences.”
Silver Fern Farms is proud to bring the best tasting cuts to New Zealand consumers, offering restaurant-quality cuts of lamb and venison that can be enjoyed at home. Our two new retail products offer new ways for consumers to appreciate lamb and venison in their everyday meals and on special occasions, and allows them the opportunity to create memorable meal experiences”.
The two new products include a package of six 96% fat free lamb medallions. “Consumers pointed out during research that they appreciated a tender cut that needed little done to it and the medallions were developed to allow them to experience lamb easily and more often as an everyday meal” says Ms Angus.
The other product is a venison roast. She says “venison is still unfamiliar to many consumers and presenting it in this very familiar way allows them to feel confident about trying something new. We see the venison roast as the perfect centre piece for any meal occasion.
Ms Angus says “as consumers may not be familiar with these new cuts, we have made it our priority to assist with how to prepare and cook them. This means communicating tips and hints and developing recipes to go alongside these new products”.
Both new products will be launched with recipe cards and top tips and instructions on how to cook and present. The launch will also include new television commercials featuring Silver Fern Farms ambassador Annabel Langbein and new recipes available on the www.bestcutsbestrecipes web site. There will be a significant roll out into supermarkets, including tastings, over the coming weeks.
