February 2012 Monthly traffic update

February 2012 Monthly traffic update

1.8% Total international passenger volumes (excluding transit passengers) at Auckland Airport increased by 1.8% versus February 2011. Passengers travelling to/from Asia grew 11.3% on February 2011 notwithstanding the reduction in arrivals of Chinese, Japanese and Korean residents. The reduction in Chinese and Korean residents was driven by Chinese New Year falling in January rather than February this year.

17.2% Queenstown Airport’s domestic passenger volumes were up 17.2% on February 2011. The increase was driven by the new JetStar route to/from Wellington and increased load factors across other domestic routes.

2.2% Domestic passenger volumes for February 2012 were 2.2% up on 2011. This was driven by strong domestic passenger volume growth on JetStar flights.
