Hirepool commits to three more years as Principal Business Partner of Contractors’ Federation
Hirepool Limited, New Zealand’s equipment solutions leader, has agreed to extend its commitment as Principal Business Partner of the New Zealand Contractors’ Federation for another three years.
Federation chief executive Jeremy Sole said that Hirepool had been the Federation’s principal business partner for the past seven years and he was delighted that the company had agreed to a further term.
“The partnership is a very positive one for both Hirepool and the Federation,” said Mr Sole. “We have a very strong relationship and work closely together to develop the Federation for the benefit of the New Zealand contracting industry.
“Hirepool provides substantial support for Federation resources, as well as events and functions and makes a very significant contribution at both branch and national level."
It was back in early 2005, to mark 50 years since the company was established, that Hirepool took the decision to forge a closer relationship with the NZCF.
“It made both commercial and strategic sense at the time and it still does,” said Hirepool Chief Executive Mark Powell.
“Which is why we have chosen to continue our support of the NZCF, and as sponsor of the Hirepool Construction Awards through to 2014. That will mark a 10-year commitment which for us is about giving back to Federation members, many of whom are our core customers.
“We will also continue to play an active role in looking to add value where we can to the relationship.”
Founded in 1944 the New Zealand Contractor’s Federation represents the interests of the civil engineering, construction and general contracting industries.
“As a business we understand only too well how Federation members are the engine room of New Zealand’s development and growth,” said Mr Powell. “They play such a vital role in providing and maintaining the country’s infrastructure of public services - so vital for a modern, developed economy like ours - if it is to compete efficiently in world markets.”
Mr Powell said Hirepool’s growth has also benefited from the business partnership. At the start of 2005 the company’s general hire branch network stood at 28. Seven years later it has almost doubled to 52 Hirepool general hire branches.
