Mission Estate welcomes its newest team member

13 April 2012

Mission Estate, New Zealand’s oldest winery, welcomes its newest team member:
Simon Nash MW, Export Manager.

Mission Estate Chief Executive Peter Holley today announced the appointment of Simon Nash MW to the role of Export Manager.

“Simon brings with him an enormous wealth of wine industry experience in the UK and New Zealand,” said Mr Holley. “This makes him a valuable asset to our business, and an important part of our future development strategy. Simon’s responsibilities will include growing our existing markets and identifying new export opportunities around the globe.”

Mr Nash began his wine career in the UK in 1987, progressing to the role of Marketing Manager for a fine wine agency. He left to work vintages in different countries, before moving to New Zealand in the mid 1990s. Since then he has held senior positions in importer/distributor companies and high profile wineries, as well as operating a successful wine consultancy.

In 1994 Simon qualified as a Master of Wine, the international wine industry’s most recognised qualification. He is one of fewer than 300 Masters of Wine in the world today.

“Wine has always been my absolute passion,” said Mr Nash. “I’m married to a consultant winemaker and we live in Hawke’s Bay, the most diverse winegrowing region in New Zealand. I have long admired Mission Estate’s innovative techniques and successful business model, as well as their consistently excellent wines.”
