International panel of experts to boost local knowledge at TRENZ

For the second year Auckland Airport will be providing the tourism industry with the opportunity to gain important insights from international experts on how to better understand and attract premium travellers, with a focus on Asia.

Geared toward demonstrating the benefits of Asia’s premium, rapidly-growing markets, particularly Indonesia and China, the Speaker Series will run over four days at New Zealand’s biggest annual international tourism industry gathering – TRENZ.

Glenn Wedlock, Auckland Airport’s General Manager Aeronautical Business Development, says delegates will benefit greatly from hearing from these highly respected and knowledgeable speakers.

“Auckland Airport is thrilled to again offer TRENZ exhibitors the opportunity to hear from a range of high calibre industry experts in the Auckland Airport International Speaker Series. The speakers we’ve selected to talk at TRENZ will provide first-hand insights into China and Indonesia, two fast-growing premium markets that offer New Zealand significant value potential,” says Mr Wedlock.

The Auckland Airport International Speaker Series features:

• David Taylor, New Zealand’s Ambassador to Indonesia and to ASEAN, who will be sharing insights into those key markets from a tourism perspective

• Pierre Gervois, a leading expert in Chinese outbound tourism who attended TRENZ last year, will provide insights into targeting the new generation of affluent outbound Chinese travellers

Delegates who attend the Auckland Airport International Speakers Series will go into the draw to win one-on-one consulting with TravConsult to the value of $600, courtesy of Auckland Airport. TravConsult will provide the winning company with advice on how to focus some of their marketing activities on Asian markets.

These inspirational speakers will take to the podium at the TRENZ venue, the Queenstown Events Centre, each morning of the event from 8am to 8.40am, before the main business of the day begins.
