Where Food and Agribusiness is ‘The Business’

Where Food and Agribusiness is ‘The Business’ – New Appointment At Rabobank

Rabobank has announced the appointment of George Murdoch who takes on the role of regional manager East Coast, based in Masterton, North Island.

George replaces Todd Charteris who was formerly overseeing the region, however recently crossed the Tasman to manage Rabobank’s operations in the state of Victoria, Australia.

With a life-long history in farming and agriculture, George says he’s pleased to join Rabobank – a bank with a sole focus of agribusiness.

“At Rabobank, food and agribusiness is the business,” he said.

“For someone like myself – who has an entire career in the agricultural industry – it’s certainly a good place to be, particularly working with a team who share the same interests and passion for agribusiness.”

George is originally from a mixed cropping farm in Canterbury and has been in rural banking with one of New Zealand’s largest banks since 1984. George has been based in the Wairarapa and Tararua regions for his entire banking career where he was more recently responsible for overseeing large-scale businesses, predominantly in the dairy sector.

George said what he enjoys most about working in agri-banking is the contact with the clients and helping people realise their business goals and aspirations.

“I am working with a highly-skilled team in the East Coast region who are all very focussed on delivering excellent service to the business in the area,” George said.
