iSKY Expands With More Live Channels
More
live channels are being added to SKY’s popular iSKY.co.nz
service from today.
SKY Basic customers will now
be able to access Animal Planet and National Geographic
Channel live on iSKY for no extra charge, with more live
streamed channels to be added in the coming
months.
SKY CEO John Fellet says this expands
iSKY’s offering to three live sports, two live news and
two documentary channels, plus catch-up TV from another 30
channels and a rental store of thousands of new and classic
movies and TV shows.
“iSKY has gone from strength
to strength since we launched it in February 2011. It
already offers a huge range of content online and we’re
delighted to now add two of our most popular documentary
channels to the mix.
Fellet says feedback about
iSKY shows people love the chance to access their favourite
sports and shows anywhere, anytime.
“During the
Rugby World Cup, for example, iSKY viewing quadrupled and
the launch of our SoHo channel has created massive
demand.”
Three-quarters of the top 50 items
viewed through iSKY in December were catch-up shows from
SoHo, the most popular being Game Of Thrones, Boardwalk
Empire, Dexter and The Killing.
Over the summer,
international test cricket and the ASB and Heineken tennis
tournaments in Auckland also proved popular with iSKY
viewers.
