CERA lawyer takes
top honours
The chief legal officer at the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority has been awarded the coveted Chapman Tripp Public Sector In-House Lawyer of the Year award.
Bronwyn Arthur has been part of CERA since its inception.
The award recognises for her work in interpreting and applying the brand new Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011 during the State of National Emergency.
Ms Arthur was presented with the award last Friday at the 25th annual Corporate Lawyers Association of New Zealand (CLANZ) conference in Queenstown.
The Chief Executive of CERA, Roger Sutton, says Ms Arthur’s award was well deserved.
“Bronwyn has the unenviable task of guiding us through the legal complexities that come with the work we do. Her calm rationale is an enormous asset to CERA.”
The CLANZ prize includes a $5000 scholarship package which is to be spent on development activities for Ms Arthur and/or her team at CERA.
