Fashion for Everyday Women Meets Runway - Botany Town Centre

Fashion for Everyday Women Meets the Runway at Botany Town Centre

It’s not every day that a personal stylist to the stars shows you how to make the most out of your clothing options and the items you will find at your local mall. That is exactly what Botany Town Centre and celebrity stylist Gemma Alderdice of www.howloveis.com intends to do.

New Zealand-born Gemma Alderdice has worked for Sienna Miller, dressed the likes of Anne Hathaway and Reese Witherspoon and has a few tricks up her sleeve on how to look your personal best – which she will share at the inaugural Runway to Wardrobe event this June at Botany Town Centre.

At the event, Gemma will spill some truths and tips about fashion, while models of all shapes and sizes showcase the current season’s collections on the runway. The event will deliver solutions for dressing different body shapes, address body confidence and demonstrate items every stylish woman must own, plus offer tips on how to shop on a budget.

Through a partnership with charity Dress for Success, www.howloveis.com has also developed ‘Project Handbag’ to collect pre-loved quality handbags at the Runway to Wardrobe event for Dress for Success in their support of women entering or re-entering the workforce. Dress for Success provides women with work-ready outfits ahead of interviews and successful job placements.

In the spirit of celebrating everyday women, www.howloveis.com is giving one special Auckland woman the opportunity to receive an ultimate fashion experience. The winner will receive a top-to-toe makeover ahead of the event, including a new wardrobe, haircut and colour, jewellery and plenty more worth $5,000.

To find this deserving woman, nominations are being accepted via the www.howloveis.com Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/HowLoveIs. Those nominating themselves or a friend are asked to write in explaining why they or their nominated person deserves to win and attach a photo. The winner will be chosen on the merit of their story, not the number of ‘likes’. The winner will be announced on Monday 4 June and two runners-up will receive complimentary tickets to Runway to Wardrobe.

The ultimate fashion experience winner and the person that nominated them will also be treated to lunch at Goode Brothers Restaurant at Botany Town Centre prior to the Runway to Wardrobe event.

www.howloveis.com celebrity stylist Gemma Alderdice says, “I am passionate about teaching woman to look and feel their personal best, and am excited to be able to share the knowledge I have gained through my celebrity styling career with the women at Runway to Wardrobe.

“The Fashion Pavilion at Botany Town Centre is the perfect venue to launch this event, with its stellar line-up of high-fashion stores which complement the fashion mix at the centre. We plan to take the event nationwide so woman all across New Zealand have access to the knowledge and skills on how to make the most of your wardrobe and assets.”

Botany Town Centre senior marketing manager Desiree Clark says, “Being an everyday woman myself, at a centre that caters for everyday women, Botany Town Centre is delighted to be hosting the Runway to Wardrobe event.

“It gives us the opportunity to really treat our local women and give them a taste of sought after styling advice and tips that they can take away with them.”

All guests at Runway to Wardrobe will receive a complimentary VnC Cocktail, goody bag worth $80 (in exchange for a pre-loved handbag donated to Project Handbag), plus VIP shopping until 9.30pm at selected stores, so all of fashion and shopping tips gained on the night can be put to good use in conjunction with exclusive in-store specials.
