Leading Project Management Consultancy Turns 21!
SPECIALISTS IN PORTFOLIO, PROGRAMME AND PROJECT
MANAGEMENT
New Zealand’s leading Project Management Consultancy Turns 21!
Project Plus is celebrating this milestone in style by producing the NZ PMO Symposium 2012 on 19 July in Wellington.
Project Plus was formed twenty one years ago in recognition of the shortage of professional services based around project management in New Zealand. By bringing internationally recognised consulting, training and accreditation options to this country, and advocating for the acceptance of standards, Project Plus has been instrumental in building a profession that plays a key part in NZ’s economic prosperity.
“We decided to hold the NZ PMO Symposium as a way of giving something back to the business market that has supported our 21 years in business,” says Iain Fraser, Project Plus’s CEO. Iain is a former Chair of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s largest member association for individuals and organisations practicing project management with an annual budget fast approaching US$200 million. Iain and his colleagues have been of members for many years and were heavily involved in establishing PMI in New Zealand back in 1994.
The 1-day symposium event will provide an in-depth exploration of Portfolio, Programme and Project Management Offices (PMOs) from basic design through to value adding enterprise entities. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the compelling reasons for establishing some form of PMO to advance organizational capabilities and drive bottom line benefits.
“People will come away with practical insights, techniques and real-life examples of how to design, set up and run successful PMOs that are sustainable in the value they offer to the business results of the organisations they are in,” says Iain.
More than
100 leaders and others are expected to attend the event
whose speaker line up reads like a Who’s Who of the
industry. Headed up by current global Chair of the PMO
community Rommy Musch, other speakers include PMINZ’s
National President Sean Whitaker and a selection of senior
leaders from across many sectors. The event format also
includes two panel sessions offering an opportunity to open
up discussion across the audience.
