Kordia’s Ethernet exchange puts retail service
providers in reach of New Zealand homes and businesses
Retail service providers (RSPs) and integrators can now offer their customers an easy and seamless connection to ultra-fast broadband (UFB) services across the country, thanks to Kordia’s Ethernet Exchanges.
The new Ethernet Exchange service aims to bridge the gap between RSPs, local fibre companies (LFCs) and Chorus by offering one wholesale interface with a range of connection options, eliminating the need for costly and time consuming legal and commercial agreements with four separate network providers, plus significant capital investment and engineering resource.
Kordia Networks General Manager Drew Gilpin says it’s vital that RSPs are given an easy and seamless way to deliver UFB services across the country.
“UFB has finally arrived, but some RSPs and integrators need help to start down the fibre path. For many, the real challenge lies in not only being able to identify and acquire the other missing network and service components but being able to connect and manage them effectively and efficiently,
“Kordia’s Ethernet Exchange service can smooth the way by reducing cost and complexity, while giving RSPs and integrators the flexibility to ‘pick and mix’ the components that suit them,” says Gilpin.

Unlike other solutions, Kordia’s Ethernet Exchange already has a full user support system in place, with a self-service wholesale customer portal to be launched later this year. The portal will act as a single point for ordering and managing all service components, offering both proactive and reactive management and visibility of throughput reporting.
