Dowse Art Museum director resigns

Dowse Art Museum director Cam McCracken is to leave to take up a position at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.

Hutt City Council Community Services general manager Matt Reid announced today that Mr McCracken would leave in October after three and a half years in the position.

“In that time, Cam has achieved outstanding results at the Dowse, Petone Settlers Museum and also in the wider Hutt City, regional and national museum and arts environment.

“Cam has helped to make the Dowse a significant destination for a national audience and one that Hutt City residents proudly call their own.

“He will be missed by staff, sponsors, the Friends of the Dowse, iwi, other key stakeholders and many, many customers.”
