Grabone Turns Two

For most Kiwis, checking GrabOne for the latest deals has quickly become part of our daily routine.

Next week [Monday 16 July] GrabOne celebrates its second birthday. In just 24 months the daily deal operator has firmly entrenched itself as the New Zealand market leader with almost 5 million GrabOne coupons ‘grabbed’ to date, saving Kiwis over $200 million.

“The past two years have been an epic journey,” says GrabOne Marketing Director, Campbell Brown who has been with the company since day one. “The businesses we’ve worked with and the Grabbies who have purchased our deals have not only helped us retain our 70 per cent market share but have also helped shaped our business - from starring in our TV ads to designing our mascot, Gimme. It’s thanks to support from Kiwis across the country that we’ve grown to be the amazing company we are today.”

To celebrate turning two, GrabOne is giving everyone that purchases a deal from across the network three chances to win an iPad and $500 credit, hiding Gimme across all GrabOne sites (simply find him and click to enter a draw to win) and selling 2,500 units of $10 credit for just $5. GrabOne is also giving away $10,0000 worth of GrabOne credit on Classic Hits radio stations across New Zealand and featuring GrabOne Classics Day on 19 July – a day of the most popular GrabOne deals from the past 24 months.

“These are deals Grabbies regularly ask us to repeat” adds Brown. “We’ll be re-running some of our most popular deals from around the country including mini golf deals, whale and dolphin tours and Jervois Steak house - so look out for your favourite deal next Thursday.”

So what next for GrabOne?

“The past few months have been a blend of leading edge technology and a return to basics” says Brown. “We’ve been focusing on continuing to provide a top level of customer service, working with our merchants to create more customised campaigns and using smarter logic to target our deals to ensure as many Grabbies as possible are receiving deals relevant to them. The results so far have been astounding with a 30 per cent plus increase in traffic to the site in little under a month.”
