Kia Launches Sharply Priced Cerato

Kia has upgraded its mid-size Cerato range for New Zealand, which will now be spearheaded by a sharply priced LX model that sells for just $28,990 plus ORC.

The brand new 2013 Cerato LX hatchback is one of the most competitively priced cars in its class yet still offers a high level of specification, including 6-speaker Bluetooth-equipped audio system with steering wheel controls, cruise control, power windows with drivers side auto down, electric/heated door mirrors, height-adjustable driver’s seat, tilt-adjustable steering, a full safety package with electronic stability programme and active front seat headrests, along with much more.

It features the advanced 6-speed sequential shift automatic transmission that has been a much-praised feature by New Zealand automotive journalists on all Cerato models, along with the high-performing 2-litre CVVT engine.

Todd McDonald, General Manger of Kia Motors New Zealand, says the new LX model bridges the price gap between the current Cerato range and the recently released Rio. He believes it offers unbeatable value for both private and business customers wanting a 2-litre hatchback with vehicle budgets up to $30,000.

“Cerato remains one of most stylish and attractive vehicles in this segment and the enhanced design and new features that have been made across the Cerato range serve to underline its great looks and comfort levels,” he says.

A key to the success of Cerato in New Zealand is the sophisticated suspension system that has been finely tuned by Kia Motors engineers especially for Australasian markets to ensure the ride and handling balance is suited to the driving environments found in this part of the world. It is also tuned to help make the most of the electric power-assisted steering (MDPS – Motor Driven Power Steering), which results in an estimated 2 to 3% fuel-saving.

Along with all Kia passenger cars and SUVs sold in New Zealand, the Cerato range comes with a 5-year/100,000km Warranty Programme incorporating 24-hour Roadside Assist, free 1500km first service and Kia Incident Care, which provides a free advisory service to Kia owners involved in an accident.
