Successful six months for collection of luxury Queenstown properties

The operators of an exquisite lakefront collection of luxury properties in Queenstown have reason to celebrate its ongoing success.

The Eichardt’s Collection – which includes Eichardt's Private Hotel, Eichardt’s Bar, Eichardt’s Lakefront Apartments and the Eichardt’s Residence -- has been lauded by some of the travel industry’s most prestigious resources and publications so far this year.

Its most recent accolades include being nominated for Hotel of the Year in the New Zealand Travel Industry Awards and the World Luxury Hotel Awards, and being named in the list of Top Ten Honeymoon destinations in the world – the only property to feature in Australasia -- by Real Weddings magazine.

The magazine said it loved fire-side après ski at what it described as an ‘intimate boutique hotel’.

Eichardt’s has recently received dual Certificate of Excellence awards from Tripadvisor for Eichardt’s Private Hotel and Eichardt’s Bar.

“We’re proud to say we are the most awarded private hotel in the country, and now, with the additional accolades we’ve gathered so far this year, I have continued confidence in that statement. We are really thrilled, and very grateful,” said Eichardt’s Group General Manager Chris McIntosh

“We had a great start to the year when the UK’s Tatler magazine named us as ‘Forever Fabulous’ in their Top 8 Hotels in the world list, and we’ve continued to gather praise since then.”

Building on their reputation for offering luxurious accommodation on the lakefront, Mr McIntosh said he was “delighted” the Eichardt’s Collection was recognised by so many travellers from around the globe.

He said it was guests who created the ‘excellence’ rating on the world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor.

“Those awards are given to businesses which consistently receive high ratings on the public forum site. We’re delighted to be recognised by our guests who have taken the time to post reviews online.”

This year Eichardt’s Private Hotel has been nominated for Best Hotel/Resort in the New Zealand Travel Industry Awards, and Mr McIntosh is also nominated for the best Sales Executive.

Eichardt’s Private Hotel has been nominated Hotel of the Year in the World Luxury Hotel awards, which recognise properties from around the world offering world-class facilities and service excellence.

Eichardt’s has recently increased its Qualmark overall rating within the 5-star hotel category and upgraded from Bronze to Silver Enviro awards.

“We’ve been awarded an Enviro-Silver award from Qualmark after the implementation of our eco-friendly initiatives, yet another example of our commitment to the New Zealand environment and our Queenstown community,” said Mr McIntosh.

“We’re very grateful to our guests and patrons for the incredible support we receive.

“We truly appreciate the feedback and are constantly striving to offer the very best hospitality experience in New Zealand.”

Earlier this year, high-end influential UK magazine Tatler named Queenstown’s Eichardt’s Private Hotel one of the world’s best hotels in its highly coveted annual travel guide, and The Times newspaper of London named Eichardt’s Bar one of the ‘Top ten bars In the world with a view’.

Offering luxury private retreats in the heart of New Zealand’s premier four-season destination, the Eichardt’s properties are all just a few steps from the lakefront and surrounded by glorious vistas of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown Bay and snow-capped mountain ranges.

Reservations for accommodation bookings are essential by calling Eichardt’s Private Hotel on +64 3 441 0450 or going online at www.eichardts.com.
