Cathay Pacific offers NZ passengers the chance to try out new premium economy experience
Cathay Pacific has launched a special Premium Economy fare to UK/Europe which gives New Zealand passengers the opportunity to try out the airline’s new Premium Economy seats.
The fare, via Sydney in both directions, is available from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown to London, Paris and Frankfurt for $4,948, plus taxes of $480.48 to London, $123.18 to Paris and $167.20 to Frankfurt.
Tickets must be purchased by August 31, 2012 for departures through to October 31, 2012. There is a maximum stay of 12 months, and travel from New Zealand to Sydney is with Qantas or Emirates Economy Class.
Premium Economy Class is being introduced progressively throughout the Cathay Pacific long-haul fleet, and is now available on all four daily flights between Sydney and Hong and on two of the four daily flights between Hong Kong and London/Heathrow. It will be available on daily flights to Frankfurt from September 1, 2012 and will be gradually introduced on one of the twice daily flights to Paris from the same date. Premium economy will make its debut on the Auckland-Hong Kong route next year.
Cathay Pacific’s Premium Economy offers a quieter more spacious cabin than the traditional Economy Class, with between 26 and 34 seats per aircraft. The seat pitch is 38 inches – six inches more than Economy Class and seats are wider with a bigger recline. The seat features a large meal table, cocktail table, footrest, a 10.6 inch personal television, an in-seat power outlet, a multi-port connector for personal devices and extra personal stowage space.
Complementing these features, passengers will also benefit from priority check-in at dedicated counters and priority boarding before Economy Class passengers, as well as an increase in baggage allowance from 20kg to 25kg.
In the air, passengers will receive an environmentally friendly amenity kit with dental kit, socks, eyeshade and earplugs for use during their journey. Larger pillows and noise-cancelling headsets will be provided, while Premium Economy passengers will be welcomed aboard with juice and champagne, and enjoy an enhanced onboard meal selection. Each passenger will also receive a personal bottle of water and additional snack choices to include more fresh fruit, an energy bar and dessert.
