Kiwis vote SEEK Best Employment Site

New Zealand’s largest job source, www.seek.co.nz, has been revealed as Kiwis’ preferred method of jobseeking, taking out the title of Best Employment Website at the 2012 ESET NetGuide Web Awards.

The annual awards are designed to acknowledge the best of the web and are determined by the public vote of New Zealanders, with more than 225,000 votes received this year. General Manager Janet Faulding says the public vote for SEEK is the best kind of recognition:

"Along with ensuring SEEK has more job opportunities than any other employment site in New Zealand, our primary goal is, and has always been, to provide the best possible online experience for jobseekers. So when they vote us number one, it's a great endorsement that we’re delivering the tools and services that they need.

"The team at SEEK is continually looking for innovative ways to improve the job search experience and make what can be a challenging time, easier,” she adds.

Identifying the rapid growth of mobile technology, for instance, saw SEEK develop a mobile site in 2010 and launch an iPhone app in July 2012, allowing Kiwis to seek on the go.

“Our developments in the mobile space have proven to be incredibly popular with jobseekers, with more than 16% of all visits to SEEK coming from a mobile device. And jobseekers aren’t just looking, job applications from our Mobile Apply tool increased by more than 30% in the last quarter,” says Ms Faulding.

Along with ongoing developments in mobile, seek.co.nz also overhauled their website this year with new design features aimed at making the site more intuitive.

Currently over 16,000 employment vacancies are advertised on seek.co.nz and the site notched up almost 2.8 million visits from jobseekers in August 2012.
