MYOB Tackling the Pain of Paying People
• NZ’s only fully integrated online accounts & payroll – now with leave management – for less than $1 a day
MYOB, New Zealand’s leading provider of business and accounting management solutions, is looking to solve one of the perennial issues for small employers – managing leave.
Designed specifically to meet the needs of small local employers, MYOB LiveAccounts with Payroll brings together accounts, banking and payroll into one easy-to use, affordable online system. MYOB has now added a new feature, Payroll Leave Entitlements, to help employers track leave, manage holidays and calculate entitlements.
MYOB general manager Julian Smith says managing leave is incredibly complex for many small employers, with so much to be aware of and so many other things in their business to manage.
“Legislation around holidays and other leave entitlements is an area that is regularly changing and extremely hard to keep track of,” says Julian Smith. “But it’s vitally important for employers to make sure their staff are getting the leave and entitlements they’ve earned.”
According to the latest MYOB Business Monitor, 62% of New Zealand business owners would like to see increased simplicity around holidays and other legislation.
“Making leave entitlements easier to understand and manage is very high on the wish list of local business owners – so we’ve created an easy to use online system to help them, which they can access anywhere, anytime.”
The new update to MYOB LiveAccounts, made available automatically to all local subscribers of the cloud system, keeps track of the annual leave, alternative holidays and sick leave employees accrue. The new system is also designed to make it easier for small employers to understand their obligations, with the ability to track individual leave entitlements, calculate final pay and PAYE, and provide a pay history for each employee.
“Getting help with your payroll is now also easier, with the introduction of 24/7 support for MYOB customers,” says Julian Smith. “So if you are doing a pay-run at 1am, which is not an unusual occurrence for small business owners, someone will be there to help if you need to pick up the phone and ask a question.”
“The beauty of the LiveAccounts too is that, as an online system, business owners can manage payroll and leave from wherever they are – home, office, or even at the beach.”
Despite introducing an increasing range of features and benefits to LiveAccounts, MYOB has continued to maintain the $25 monthly fee, with no limits on number of users within a business or access to the 24-hour support service.
“Running a business and managing staff can be very complex. And with many small employers trying to use a manual system, the risk of not paying staff what they are entitled to or failing to meet payroll and tax obligations can be high,” says Julian Smith.
“So by making this system extremely affordable, and incredibly easy to use, we’re aiming to give as many businesses as possible the tools to manage leave, payroll and their accounts.”
LiveAccounts with Payroll is available at www.myob.co.nz/liveaccounts. Business owners can trial the software for free for 30 days.
