Kids Stay Free in the Capital this Summer
Book an urban break to Wellington this summer and the kids’ accommodation is on the house.
From today until 18 November, visitors can book accommodation at their choice of 16 of the city’s hotels where Kids Stay Free for visits from 15 December until the end of January.
Some participating hotels aren’t kidding around, offering more than just free accommodation for kids.
Families can enjoy additional benefits such as free internet, parking, activity packs or DVD hire – and Amora Hotel Wellington is offering free buffet breakfasts for the entire family.
Visitors can get their game face on this December at Te Papa’s blockbuster summer exhibition, Game Masters.
New Zealand’s national museum will morph into a live gaming universe from 15 December and will showcase some of the most groundbreaking games ever made across arcades, consoles, PC and mobile platforms.
With over 120 playable games on offer – everything from Angry Birds to Sonic the Hedgehog – there’s something to suit all family members.
Experience full-body arcade games, declare a digital dance off, fight it out in four-player racing challenges or become immersed in 3D displays.
In Wellington families can celebrate Kiwi culture at New Zealand’s national museum, take a virtual tour through space at Carter Observatory, take in a tour of Parliament, come face-to-face with the closest living relative to a dinosaur at Zealandia, experience the magic of movie-making with a guided film tour, or get up close and personal with wildlife at Wellington Zoo.
The booking period for Kids Stay Free runs from today until November 18, with the stay period from December 15 to January 30. Kids are classified as being 0-16 years old.
