Kagi strikes gold again with Deloitte’s Fast 50!

Kat Gee, designer and director of Kagi Jewellery, has made the Deloitte Fast 50 for the second year running coming in at 26th place with 257% growth over the last 2 years.
Kagi also picked up the highly coveted ‘Fastest Growing Exporter’ award and was again the sole fashion brand represented on the list, bucking the trend of a challenging retail environment.

It’s been a hugely successful year for Kagi, also being a finalist in the recent Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, receiving an ICEHOUSE Scholarship, and being the first jewellery designer to host a show at New Zealand Fashion Week.

The Deloitte Fast 50 celebrates the countrys fastest growing companies and has become a barometer of successful, innovative businesses.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have Kagi recognised again as one of New Zealand’s fastest growing businesses and to be the only fashion or jewellery brand in the Fast 50 shows just how much women love what we do!”

“We have got the recipe right and it’s a credit to my team that we have achieved what we have,” says Kat.

In addition to a great team Kat attributes the success of Kagi to breaking some rules and long held assumptions that had existed in a very traditional industry.

“We design what women want to wear and what makes them feel beautiful everyday.” she said.

With a strong focus on multitasking jewellery in classic designs, Kagi has mastered the art of adding value to their product whilst keeping price points affordable.

“Kagi is affordable luxury that works with a range of personal styles, thanks to the interchangable attributes we have adopted, it’s really the best of both worlds,” she said.

Kagi Jewellery now boasts over 230 retailers across Australasia and the companies continued growth suggests that they have an extremely effective business model. The recognition and momentum Kagi has gained has confirmed that Kat and her team have the design formula right.
