Transmission pricing methodology – extension to consultation

Transmission pricing methodology – extension to consultation period

The Authority has decided to extend the consultation period for the ‘Transmission Pricing Methodology: issues and proposal’ consultation paper’ following a number of requests for more time to fully understand and comprehend the proposal.

Submissions are now due on 31 January 2013, with cross submissions due on 21 February 2013.

The consultation paper reviews the current arrangements for the Transmission Pricing Methodology (TPM), which specifies the method for Transpower to recover the costs of providing transmission grid services, and proposes a number of changes to that methodology to enhance efficiency for the long-term benefit of electricity consumers.

The consultation paper and supporting documents, including an overview paper and responses to stakeholder questions made since the consultation was published (questions and responses), are available at: www.ea.govt.nz/our-work/consultations/priority-projects/tpm-issues-oct12/
