Registry service provider agreement renewal
The Authority has renewed the registry service
provider contract with Jade Software Corporation (NZ)
Ltd.
The Authority has a contract with Jade to carry out the role of registry manager. The agreement is due to expire on 1 May 2013. However, the Authority has an option to extend the agreement for two further terms.
The alternative to renewing the contract is for the Authority to re-tender for the supply of this market operations service provider role.
After a thorough review of the merits of renewal versus tendering, the Authority has decided to exercise its renewal option with respect to the agreement, and has given a renewal notice to Jade.
Changes to the
service provider agreement were agreed at the same time,
including a new commitment to continuous quality
improvement. The variation agreement is published on the
Authority website at:
www.ea.govt.nz/industry/mo-service-providers/registry-market-operation-service-provider/
The new contract term will begin on 1 May 2013 and run for three years.
Transmission pricing methodology: proposed questions and answers workshop
The Authority has received expressions of interest for an additional workshop to be held on the Authority’s transmission pricing methodology (TPM) proposal prior to submissions being finalised. The workshop would provide people with an opportunity to discuss the proposal with the Authority and clarify any aspects of the proposal they may be unclear about.
The Authority is available to hold discussions on the TPM proposal on a one-on-one basis as well, but the dynamic of a group discussion may be of benefit. The Authority would like to find out from interested parties whether there is sufficient interest in holding such a workshop before making a decision on whether to proceed.
It is anticipated the workshop would be a questions and answers session, with questions submitted in advance so examples could be prepared for use in the answers.
An indicative date for a workshop is 7 February 2013. Please email your interest in attending to conference@ea.govt.nz with ‘TPM Q&A workshop’ in the subject line no later than 5pm on 14 December 2012. A decision on whether the workshop will take place will be announced in next week’s Market Brief.
21 January 2013 (Wellington Anniversary Day): non-business day
The Market Administrator gives notice to participants that Monday 21 January 2013 (Wellington Anniversary Day) is declared to be a non-business day.
