Celebrating NZ businesses making a mark with China
Business success with China is to be celebrated at the New Zealand China Trade Association’s HSBC China Business Awards 2013 on May 30th.
Entries are open to businesses that export to China, import from China, or have manufacturing or services involved with China.
“With China our second largest trade partner and largest source of imports, the Awards offer a great occasion to honour our Chinese and Hong Kong business pioneers and champions,” said NZCTA executive director Graham Kearns.
“The awards were established seven years ago by the NZCTA, three years before New Zealand and China signed the Free Trade Agreement, China’s first comprehensive FTA.
“The awards will especially celebrate those of our enterprises that took the plunge and developed successful international trade and investment in what was relatively unknown territory,” Mr Kearns said.
The six award categories are:
• The KPMG Award for
Creating Leverage Opportunities through Chinese /NZ business
for the Benefit of NZ Inc
• The DLA Phillips Fox
Award for Successful Investment with China -
Inward or Outward
• The HSBC Award for
Excellence in NZ/China Trade
• The Cathay Pacific
Airlines Award for Innovation in the NZ/China Supply
Chain
• The Hong Kong New Zealand Business
Association Award for the Best use of Hong Kong by a New
Zealand company for its business
• The NZCTA
Supreme Award: Chosen from all categories above.
(The
prize for the Supreme Award includes two return business
class airfares to China provided by Cathay Pacific Airlines,
plus an added prize pool with a total value in excess of
$20,000).
The judging panel of 10 includes prominent business people who have extensive experience in doing business with China and representatives from the category sponsors.
