MIA Office Bearers 2013
At the Motor Industry Association’s Annual General Meeting held last week, Mr Andrew Clearwater, Managing Director of Mazda Motors New Zealand Limited was elected as President.
Andrew replaces Mr Mark Gilbert who retired from BMW New Zealand Limited at the end of last year.
Andrew has had 33 years’ experience in the New Zealand automotive industry, with the last 20 years at Mazda where took over as Managing Director in 2006. Andrew is also Chairman of the Mazda Foundation, a charitable organisation that donates around $200,000 annually towards community projects. Andrew is currently the MIA representative on the Motor Industry Training Organisation board.
To assist Andrew members appointed into the position of joint vice president, Mr John Manley, Managing Director Nissan New Zealand and Mr Glynn Tulloch, Group General Manager European Motor Distributors.
John has gained extensive knowledge of the motor industry in a career spanning over 30 years with Nissan over a wide range of sales and marketing functions, from managing Nissan’s highest award winning dealership through to his current position.
Glynn upon leaving university worked at Honda New Zealand Limited for approximately six years in marketing and product roles. In early 1986 he became Sales and Marketing Manager of European Motor Distributors, at that time the importers of Audi and Volkswagen. In the following 17 years he has held various roles with the company including Audi General Manager. In his current role he oversees the marques of Skoda, Volkswagen and Audi.
