Customs most attractive public service employer for second year running
Customs has again been voted New Zealand’s Most Attractive Employer for the public sector in the Randstad awards.
The organisation was also named the second most attractive organisation to work for in the overall awards category.
Comptroller, Carolyn Tremain said the awards were a fantastic achievement that show what New Zealanders think about the Customs Service.
“We have our staff and our reputation to thank for the recognition.”
Forty seven percent of those surveyed voted for Customs as an organisation that they would like to work for.
“The awards are recognition of the work that is done every day by our staff around the country, and highlight the importance of our border security work and the trust and confidence New Zealanders have in Customs”.
A total of 7,000 New Zealanders were surveyed about their views on New Zealand’s largest companies and asked to indicate whether or not they would like to work for these companies.
Each respondent is then asked to evaluate each of the companies they would work for against ten key factors, such as “interesting job content” and “strong workplace culture.
This is known as ‘relative attractiveness’ and it is the relative attractiveness score that determines the winner of the Randstad Award. The awards are held every year in 14 countries - 2013 is the third year the Randstad Awards have been conducted in New Zealand.
