Come on The Great Adventure
Come on The Great Adventure
The first-ever national conference for New Zealand’s adventure and outdoor tourism sector is being held in Wellington in May.
The Great Adventure will offer adventure and outdoor tourism operators a rare opportunity to discuss issues affecting their sector, Tourism Industry Association New Zealand (TIA) Chief Executive Martin Snedden says.
“Many adventure and outdoor operators work in remote parts of the country and don’t often have the chance to get together and share their experiences,” Mr Snedden says.
“The sector has been the focus of considerable public attention in recent years. This is a timely opportunity to bring operators together to help build a strong, unified and prosperous sector.”
The one-day conference will take place at Rydges Wellington on 10 May 2013, following a welcome function at Parliament’s Grand Hall the previous evening.
The keynote speaker is Jamie Fitzgerald, adventurer, star of the ‘First Crossings’ TV series and sought-after management consultant.
Paul Yeo from Tourism New Zealand will look at the changing face of the adventure market, and three breakout sessions will focus on:
• Strategies for building a strong, positive
workplace culture
•
• Tactics for managing a
business in challenging times
•
• Performing
competitively within the complex and fast-moving digital
space.
Early bird registrations are open until 15 April at www.tianz.org.nz/main/The_Great_Adventure
The Great Adventure is being sponsored by ACC, the Department of Conservation and Real Journeys.
