Today, the new generation of young kiwi farmers are embracing technology and innovation more than ever before, and Vodafone see New Zealand Young Farmers leading the way in agribusiness innovation. A recent survey demonstrated that young farmers are adopting smartphones and other devices faster than the NZ average. 45% of young farmers under 40 own smart devices.
As the governments chosen provider in delivering wireless broadband to rural New Zealand, Vodafone recognises rural residents as some of the highest contributors to GDP in NZ, and is committed to provide rural New Zealand with the tools and capabilities to ensure it remains the driving force of our economy.
Vodafone’s head of rural marketing, Darren Hopper, is very optimistic about the relationship.
“Vodafone is hugely proud to be partnering with Young Farmers. We are delighted to support such talented individuals and are looking forward to working with these young people who will shape the industry in the years to come. Our sponsorship of this event is just a small part of our strategy to deepen our understanding of agricultural businesses and deliver services that will make a difference beyond basic communication requirements.”
