Outstanding Hospo people recognised again

Outstanding Hospo people recognised again

15th April, 2013

Once again the industry has spoken with finalists being announced for the Hawke’s Bay Hospitality Awards for 2013.

Following a successful formula used in other regions around the country, the Hawke’s Bay Hospitality Awards is about honouring the heroes, the awards serve to promote excellence in hospitality and the chance for the industry to celebrate together and recognise their own. We believe that the benefits of a peer recognition awards programme that celebrates dedication and excellence would not only draw our industry closer but also raise aspirations and performance.

“The criteria around nominating changes slightly this year, with people and establishments not being able to nominate themselves, this was very well received”, Vicky Rope, Event Organiser Food Hawke’s Bay says. “comment from the industry was that it took the pressure off having to choose one or two parts of their own businesses to promote and gave you flexibility to nominate other great establishments in the region”

The industry are now asked to vote for one of the four finalists in each category and the person or establishment that receives the most votes in their category will be announced as the winner at the awards ceremony held at the Napier Municipal Theatre followed by an afterparty at East Pier on Monday 20th May 2013.

Although sponsorship continues to be a challenge in this current business environment, this event is very lucky to have such a high percentaqe of inaugural sponsors still involved. New sponsors welcomed on board this year include PBT Transport, who freight a lot of our Hawke’s Bay wine around the country. Foxton Fizz a ‘blast from the past’ soft drink with flavours taking us back to our childhood like Creaming Soda, De Luxe Kola and Curly Top Lemonade, With consumers showing a renewed interest in genuine retro Kiwi owned brands, Foxton Fizz continues to gain in popularity and can now be found in several stockists on Main Street, Foxton, and also as far away as Ponsonby Road, Waiheke Island, Courtenay Place and Ahuriri. Other new sponsors include East Coast Packaging, for all your packaging needs and Origin Earth a skyrocketing successful local business focussing on cheese, milk and yoghurt. We could not hold these awards without the support of these companies.
