Vend appoints Trent Mankelow as Head of Product
30 April 2013
Cloud-based retail software company, Vend, is pleased to announce the appointment of Trent Mankelow, as Head of Product.
Mankelow is a co-founder and director of Optimal Usability, New Zealand's leading user experience consultancy, and brings to Vend over ten years’ experience observing people interacting with websites and apps for clients such as Trade Me, Vodafone, Air New Zealand and many more.
“Cloud technology and mobile devices are revolutionising point-of-sale and payments, and offer smarter ways for retailers to optimise their business and engage with customers,” says Vaughan Rowsell, Vend founder and CEO. “Vend is at the cutting edge of that technology, providing thousands of retailers around the world with beautifully designed, functional software that is a joy to use.”
“We’re really excited to welcome Trent to the executive team. As New Zealand’s leading expert in user-centred design, his talent and experience will be invaluable as we continue to provide the world’s best retail software to a rapidly growing global customer base.”
Trent says he is thrilled to join the team “I’ve been following Vend since they launch and have been very impressed by their ambition and growth. I love how we are disrupting the boring, slow world of point-of-sale systems with something that’s elegant, easy to use and inexpensive.”
Trent will remain on the board at Optimal Usability, but retires as CEO to take up the position of Head of Product. “After 10 enjoyable years working in a consulting company, I’m really excited about an internal role where I will be responsible for the end-to-end product development.”
