Jetstar supports NZ Sign Language Week by upskilling crew

MEDIA ALERT: Jetstar is getting behind New Zealand Sign Language Week (13 - 19 May) by upskilling their 500 Kiwi crew thanks to a specially-designed Online Taster Class where crew can learn how to introduce themselves, sign a simple sentence, the alphabet and everyday questions. One of the stars of the taster class, 20-year old Caleb Thorn, was on hand to show Jetstar ambassador Steve Price and Auckland crew members Amelia and Lela how to sign ‘welcome’. Deaf Aotearoa was a past recipient of a Jetstar Flying Start Programme grant where $15,000 cash and $15,000 in travel went towards a special camp for families with deaf parents held in Christchurch in February.
