Supreme Biotechnologies Develop New Product

Supreme Biotechnologies Develop New Product

AstaSupreme® combines three “nutritional giants” in new formulation for joint care

Astaxanthin, Curcumin, and Omega3 formula launched to mark World Autoimmune Arthritis Day

New Zealand’s only natural astaxanthin manufacturer has combined three “nutritional giants”

together in a unique formulation to help more people recover from painful joints.

To mark World Autoimmune Arthritis Day today, Supreme Biotechnologies, producers of AstaSupreme® Astaxanthin, has launched a unique formula, which combines Astaxanthin, Curcumin and Omega 3.

Supreme Biotechnologies CEO Tony Dowd says the new product is designed specifically to target inflammation in sore joints and tendons, by combining three ingredients that have been clinically validated as natural anti-inflammatory agents.

“Many people suffering from painful inflamed joints often take Astaxanthin, Curcumin and Omega 3 separately,” Dowd says. “So, we worked with a natural health consultant to combine the right quantities of each of these three ingredients, to create a powerhouse formula for painful joints.

“AstaSupreme® Advanced Joint Care is perfect for athletes and older people who suffer from joint pain, and anyone who’s working hard every day and putting stress on their bodies,” he says. “Not only does it help with pain and inflammation, it stops the damage caused by harmful free radicals –more so than any other antioxidant.

“Today is World Autoimmune Arthritis Day, which observes a number of arthritic diseases suffered by hundreds of thousands of people around the world,” he says. “We have launched AstaSupreme Advanced Joint Care today to acknowledge everyone in the world who suffers from painful joints.”

The new product is a natural step for the Nelson-based company, which recently announced a new $1.4 million investment, allowing them to double their astaxanthin production capacity. Dowd says the investment will allow them to meet growing global demand for New Zealand astaxanthin.

Natural Health Consultant Dr Bob Corish worked with Supreme Biotechnologies to create AstaSupreme® Advanced Joint Care, and says combining Astaxanthin, Curcumin, and Omega 3 makes absolute sense for improved joint health.

“Astaxanthin on its own is a super-antioxidant – the most powerful known in the world,” Corish says.

“Adding the other two elements creates a one-stop formula for people with sore joints; for a very long time the active curcuminoid compounds in Curcumin have been linked with suppression of inflammation, as well as many other health conditions. And, Omega 3 promotes healthy biomolecules that are regarded as having an anti-inflammatory effect, especially on joints.

“All three elements have slightly different benefits for joints, so together they are a complete powerhouse, helping to reduce inflammation and improve healthy joint function,” he says.

About Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin is one of the most powerful antioxidants known. Antioxidants help prevent free radicals from causing damage inside your body. Algae-derived astaxanthin has the highest potency and concentration found in any other source. The concentration of astaxanthin made by algae, versus other sources of astaxanthin is like night and day. For example, astaxanthin content gram per gram:

Algae (H.Pluvialis) 40,000ppm; Krill, 120ppm; Arctic shrimp, 1200ppm, which makes sense because algae are the original astaxanthin manufacturers that the others sources merely feed off.

Astaxanthin has been clinically shown to have multiple health benefits and has 500+ peer reviewed studies supporting these extensive health benefits, especially in conditions related to inflammation such as arthritis, heart disease, neurodegenerative disease and even premature ageing.

Astaxanthin’s ability to ‘mop up’ harmful free radicals, which are caused by the everyday damage we do to our bodies, is unrivalled – it is quite simply the King of antioxidants, and New Zealand-grown astaxanthin is by far the most powerful version of it.

About Curcumin

Curcumin is rapidly becoming one of the most valuable natural ingredients in the health and wellness industry. Curcumin is a powerful anti-inflammatory and also shows great antioxidant properties; five to eight times stronger than vitamin E, stronger than vitamin C, and three times more powerful than grape seed or pine bark extract. Curcumin blends nicely with Omega-3 and Astaxanthin forming a natural ‘fire extinguisher’ to stamp out inflammation in joints and tendons.

About Omega-3

Omega -3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are known to integrate within the outer membrane of joint cells, helping them to remain ‘fluid’, lubricated and flexible. Omega- 3s also stop free radical damage to joint structures, and therefore help to create another barrier against inflammation. On September 8, 2004, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave "qualified health claim" status to EPA and DHA omegaD3 faEy acids (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega-3_fatty_acid)
