MEDIA RELEASE

Changes at Blue Star Print NZ, a Division of Blue Star Group

Blue Star Print NZ’s Chief Executive David Jupe has made the decision to leave the business. A 16 year veteran of Blue Star, Jupe has led the business for the last four and a half years, through a most tumultuous period for both Blue Star as well as the broader New Zealand print industry.

Following the sale of Blue Star to Mercury Capital and Tom Sturgess in January of this year, he has successfully led the integration of GEON into Blue Star following the purchase of its assets in March 2013 from its receivers. Jupe’s decision to leave is based on a desire to take a ‘well deserved rest’.

He says, “It has been a challenge, and a privilege leading this business through everything it has faced in recent years, and I’m excited for the team given the opportunities ahead. It’s just time for a break.”

Jupe has a long history with Executive Chairman Tom Sturgess who comments, “We will miss David’s passion, commitment and zeal. He leaves a capable team well equipped to carry on. David has my admiration and respect for his great effort and we wish him the very best for the future.
