Statement of Intent: 2013 – 2013

Statement of Intent: 2013 – 2013

We’re pleased to release our new Statement of Intent setting out NZ On Air’s priorities and vision for the three years beginning 1 July 2013.

As always NZ On Air will be seeking a balance between mainstream and special interest content and services, looking for innovation, diversity and value for money.

"It’s going to be another busy year" says Chief Executive Jane Wrightson.  "Alongside our normal work, we’ll be evaluating channel funding, online access, and television documentary policies and will continue to consider how to better serve Pacific audiences."

In the year ahead NZ On Air will also introduce a separate television budget line for Māori programmes (mainly in English), and will maintain the very successful Platinum, Digital Media and Making Tracks schemes.

"We know that budgets in our sector are tight, but we'll always be on the lookout for great ideas that will help deliver valued content to New Zealand audiences" Jane Wrightson says.

NZ On Air is pleased to have retained funding at the previous year's level, given the wider economic environment and the pressures on Government expenditure.

NZ On Air looks forward to another year ensuring a great range of local content on TV, on radio and online for audiences to enjoy.
