World’s leading chemical company makes the move to Auckland Airport

The rapidly expanding Auckland Airport Business District will now be home to BASF New Zealand Ltd, the New Zealand subsidiary of the world’s leading chemical company.

Auckland Airport General Manager Property, Peter Alexander, says the airport are thrilled that BASF will be joining the growing commercial hub in the Auckland Airport Business District.

“We are seeing more and more businesses choosing to relocate to our Business District which is a comprehensively planned, developed and managed commercial district,” says Mr Alexander. “The increasing demand for facilities within the district reflects international trends for businesses locating close to transport and other value creation activities.”

With Headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany, BASF is a global company with over 380 production sites worldwide, more than 110,000 employees and posted sales of €78.7 billion in 2012.

David Robinson, Country Manager for BASF New Zealand Limited, says the move to the Airport Business District was an easy decision for the company. “Being on the doorstop of the largest transport hub in the country is going to provide some very real benefits to our customers in terms of national and international connectivity. As well as this, we were very impressed by the Quad 5 building and the scale of amenities available to our employees.”

The Quad 5 facility, designed by award-winning architects Jasmax, is designed to a 5 star Green Star rating and provides high quality, flexible space with environmentally sustainable features.
