More Speakers Join Tedxauckland Lineup
TEDxAuckland is shaping up to be another catalytic event with four more inspirational New Zealanders set to take the stage.
The August event will present a diverse range of speakers that will ignite conversation, encourage new thinking and expose attendees to world-changing ideas from the minds of New Zealand’s top artists, educators, technologists and scientists.
With tickets now on sale and anticipation building, event organiser Elliott Blade believes TEDxAuckland has both the momentum and talent to build on the success of last year’s event.
“Too often New Zealanders look
overseas for inspiration, forgetting that a raft of
world-changing ideas are being developed in our own
backyard. TEDxAuckland is focussed on bringing together the
best talent New Zealand has to offer to inspire attendees
with tales of home grown innovation, success and
passion.”
Newly announced speakers for this
year’s event include iconic New Zealand furniture and
lighting designer, David Trubridge; award-winning
documentary director of Finding Mercy, Robyn
Paterson; sustainability specialist and co-founder of
ecostore, Malcolm Rands; and poet, teaching artist
and creative entrepreneur, Grace Taylor.
These inspiring individuals will present their ideas alongside chef and award-winning author Robert Oliver; Mayor of Otorohanga and motorcycle enthusiast Dale Williams; and educator, entrepreneur and founder of the Hika programs Sophie Tauwehe Tamati.
TEDxAuckland will take place on Saturday, 3 August in the Aotea Centre. A wide range of speakers are set to take part in the full day event. A complete speaker line up will be announced in July.
TEDxAuckland is proudly supported by Principal Partner New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), New Zealand’s international business development agency. NZTE helps New Zealand businesses grow bigger, better, and faster in international markets.
The New Zealand Herald, Telecom NZ and AUT University are Supporting Partners.
Loop, Scoop Media, Idealog Magazine, Flitter and The Goat Farm are TEDxAuckland Event Partners.
