Nominations invited for second annual Asian in the Bay awards
The public is being invited to nominate their favourite Hawke’s Bay based Asian business and community organisation ahead of the second annual awards evening.
The Asians in the Bay awards will again recognise those businesses and individuals who are making a difference in the community, along with groups and organisations which have helped promote their own particular culture.
In 2013, the awards will be organised by the Multicultural Association, Hawke’s Bay and Chairman Tong Too says “Last year was the inaugural year for the awards and the whole event was so well received by our community that we are planning another awards evening this year.
Tong Too says “The awards will benefit the community by promoting the importance of unity, cooperation and the creation of a culture of excellence within the Asian business and professional communities. The award recipients will have reached the very highest levels of achievement in their field and demonstrate the potential and unique identity of the Asian community.”
“One of the major advantages of the awards process, is that it allows entrants to stand back and have a good look at the way their business or organisation is operating, and this may become the catalyst for change in the future.”
Awards will be presented in five categories; best Asian restaurant, best Asian professional, best Asian business, Best Asian community group and best Asian community event.
The public is welcome to nominate their favourite Asian business or organisation for the awards. Nominations open on Friday June 14th at www.hastingsdc.govt.nz/asiansinthebay
Presentations to the winners will be made during the awards evening to be held at the Napier RSA on Monday August 26th 2013.
